Teams will participate in 1-2 tournaments during the season.


Overview

The Travel Level is the core tier of Sandy Spring Soccer Club’s competitive pathway. With multiple teams at each age group, players are placed at the level that best suits their development. This ensures opportunities for advancement while keeping training and competition challenging and engaging.


Commitment & Expectations

  • Practices:
  • Fall/Spring: 2 team sessions per week + 1 optional club training (licensed coach)
  • Winter: 2 team sessions per week (accommodations for high school players)
  • Games: Competitive league play across the DMV
  • Season Length: 10.5-month commitment (August – June)
  • Tournaments: 2–3 per season depending on age/level
  • Travel: Away games across the DMV, plus tournament travel


Player Profile

  • Teams include a range of skill levels within each age group
  • Players seeking structured development and regular competition
  • Families prepared for consistent training and weekend matches


League & Competition

Leagues depend on level and age group:

  • EDP – Elite Development Program

Teams may also participate in tournaments for added competition and exposure.


Cost

Starting with the Fall 2026 season, there will be a slight fee increase. In addition, our program will move to a 10-month payment plan, giving families the option to pay seasonally in installments.


Annual Fees (Fall, Winter, and Spring)

  • New Players: $2,075
  • Returning Players: $1,975
  • Both the monthly plan and the 3-payment seasonal option will cover the full annual fee.

  • 2 tournaments per season

  • League fees
  • Administrative fees
  • Facility costs


Tryouts

  • Held in spring to form teams for the following seasonal year
  • Players may contact the Technical Director to attend evaluation practices at other times if roster space allows
